To ensure the mummy’s appearance was perfectly smooth, the wrapping process took a long time, with each application of tape carefully and meticulously. For a smooth and tight finish, two more layers of tape were wrapped around the body. Because the tape was so tight, the subsequent struggles during breathing made it even tighter. This tortured Shiyu terribly; the pressure on her chest and the restriction of her breathing caused her to cry several times and constantly beg for mercy. But as an artwork, it couldn’t be destroyed immediately, so she continued to suffer inside the mummy.”
