“This is my first audition documentary, and it’s a very special one in the [Baicheng Productions] series. Filming took place about a month before the Xiaonan story in the fifteenth film, “Married Woman Punishment Center.” This marked Xiaonan and I’d first met, and it was also Xiaonan’s first attempt. The entire film is a true record, with numerous subtitles, capturing some of my inner thoughts during the audition. You can clearly sense the true standards and concerns of a veteran in the industry when filming a mature actress. The answer to what ultimately made me decide to work with Xiaonan on a feature film lies in the audition.”
