“A mentally ill patient escapes from the hospital, and a bizarre “family game” unfolds—he forcibly kidnaps his former beautiful attending physician and nurse, imprisoning them in a secret residence and forcing them to play the role of his “family.” To break free, the two women rack their brains to plan each escape, from feigning compliance to secretly testing him, to desperate counterattacks, only to be exposed time and again. As their resistance intensifies, the constraints escalate, from restricted freedom of movement to being under constant surveillance and confined to their space. Hope gradually fades in the repeated tug-of-war. Day after day, month after month, time slipped away quietly in their imprisonment. During the months-long confinement, the camera meticulously depicted the traces of time: the two men’s constantly changing hairstyles, the different rooms and scenes they were moved to, which not only subtly hinted at the passage of time but also added unique highlights to the tense and oppressive plot.”
